Salt Lake City Genealogy

VÄLKOMMEN     WELCOME

I hope you enjoy these pictures of the genealogy
center in Salt Lake city Utah.  LDS Links below.
Jerry Longstrom

Jerry & Colleen Longstrom were in Salt Lake for four days to do genealogy research. It is a great place to do research and we will go back again soon.

We stayed at the Best Western, right next door to the center.
We did not have to rent a car because it was so close, and you could go back to your room for a while to relax.

We wore comfortable clothes all the time, (shorts & Levi's). We had some of our meals at JB's restaurant on the corner, a half block away.
We had a few meals at the Carriage Court (great homemade rolls) across the street, and also ate at Dee's around the corner.
We started every day by 8:30 am and stayed until they closed except one night. Everybody is very helpful, and the facility is a fabulous place to do research.

Imagine all the film for Sweden, and all the census for the United States, all the information on ship immigration, plus all the books they have. Plus, plus, plus..........

The library hours are 7.30 AM to 5 PM on Monday, and 7.30 AM to 10 PM on Tuesday to Saturday inclusive. Apart from Sundays, and early closing on Mondays, the library is only closed on 7 days throughout the year.

This is a postcard, with the picture being taken from the north of the city.

more films for her Engelbrektsson/Swenson/Swanson
families from Mellerud (Älvsborg county) Sweden

Jerry Longstrom standing in the Swedish book section,
with three genealogy books written by a relative from
Göteborg Sweden, Erland Långström.
Erland Långström was a great genealogist in Sweden,
He has saved a lot of the Långström family history, as well
as a lot of history for Göteborg. There is a street in Göteborg
named after him.  "Långströmsgatan"
Erland also wrote other genealogy books.

The genealogy center is a fabulous place, with very helpful volunteers.
I hope you can go sometime,
Jerry Longstrom
